These are the handiest things ever I use these sticky notes to make shopping lists, write notes for my son's lunchbox, let my husband know I love him (or want something), let someone know I stopped by and had to leave, tell fedex and UPS to ring the back doorbell.... Anytime I need to make sure I get a message to someone (via something other than voicemail or email), I use these. They are colorful and they are nice and sticky. Label Lovers Unite! I got this product to replace my current Brother P-Touch Labeler, because I wanted something that I could create laminated labels with, but also be able to make them a bit snazzier than my current labeler allows. This product fits the bill, and then some! With this label maker, you can hook it up to any PC, and print laminated labels. Let me make this clear though---you have to have a computer to hook the labeler up to, or it will not work. Hooking up the label maker is very easy, you simply use the USB cord that comes in the box and hook it up to the USB port on your computer. Once hooked up, and powered on, a built in software called "P-Touch Editor Lite" automatically comes up. It is very user friendly, and allows you to create your labels from your computer, and print them without having to install any additional software. The great thing about this, is that with this label maker you have access to a wide range of fonts, clip arts, and editing that you do not have on a regular label maker. But, the best feature of using a computer to generate your labels, is that you get to see what the labels are actually going to look like BEFORE you print them! At last no more wasted TZ tape! Now, if you want to take your label making up another level you can install the additional software from the CD-ROM that comes with the labeler. Installing this software is totally optional, and not necessary, but just provides some additional features that the built in software does not have. This is where things got a little tricky for me, and why I would give this product 4.5 stars if I could. Installing the software was not as easy as I expected it to be. But I am going to tell you what I did wrong so you won't make the same mistakes that I did! The CD-ROM contains two applications that need to be installed--the editing software, and a driver for this editing software. After the editing software is installed, the CD-ROM will attempt to install the driver. This is where I got stuck--the driver would not install. But after browsing through the numerous pamphlets/manuals that come with this product I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong--but I wasted at least a half an hour trying to figure this out. Here is what you need to know: 1. Make sure you do not have the label maker plugged in to your computer or turned on--wait until the installation software asks you to do so. 2. Make sure that the "mode switch" on the bottom of the machine is turned to the "E" position. As long as you follow those two bits of advice the driver will install properly, and you can be on your way to creating all kinds of labels. The reason I would take off half a star is because I wasted to much time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong--- there should be a label on the CD-ROM envelope that says "WHEN INSTALLING SOFTWARE SWITCH MODE TO 'E' & DO NOT PLUG IN/TURN ON MACHINE UNTIL ASKED". That would have saved me so much time! With that being said, once I got the software installed (and as I mentioned earlier, the software is optional....it is just more advanced than the software that is already built into the labeler), I was very impressed. You can really do a lot with it--there are even two modes, "Express" and "Professional". There are just as many, and maybe even more, fonts as Microsoft Word, as well as many different symbols/clip arts/ frames that you can insert. You can also install add-ins for Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook that allow you to print your laminated labels from there. You can also insert photos that you have stored on your computer into the label! I especially love the ruler, which shows you precisely how long your label is going to be, so that you know how much tape you are using. There is also a neat feature called "Snap" which allows you to take screen clippings from your computer, and insert them into your label. The label quality is excellent, and just what you would expect from Brother. As far as I can tell, this label maker accepts any type of labels that Brother makes (and they make A LOT of different kinds!)--even the 1" width labels. Fonts, and other symbols, etc, come out very clear. I inserted some photos and screen clippings to see how they would turn out, and they came out well---a bit grainy, but I was taking a large photo and fitting it onto a ½" label, so I did not expect that it would be the best quality. You can also have multiple lines of text, arrange the text direction, and do many other things with the installed software--you can even make barcodes! Other notable features--the product is actually more compact than I expected it to be from the picture, a clear window for viewing what type of tape that you have in the machine, accepts batteries AND has an AC adapter so you can plug it in ( a big plus!),is Energy Star rated, and seems to be made out of durable materials. There is not much room for improvement with this labeler, but I would have a few minor suggestions for the manufacturer. First, I wish this product came with more than just one "sample" size TZ tape. It would be nice if there were more TZ tapes included and even possibly in various sizes or colors. Second, although this product is quite small, the portability of this product would be improved by adding a handle. Lastly---it would be nice if the labeler came with some type of pouch to store the label maker in, along with its AC adapter and USB Cord. Otherwise though, great product for making quality, personalized, laminated labels! Definitely several steps up from what I had been using! Good enough for text-only labels (Please check out my images of the actual output for text, JPEG, and screen capture.) I've never owned a dedicated label maker before, but certainly have an appreciation for a good label. After running a few tests for an hour, here are my impressions of the PT-2430PC: PROS *Ease of use. No driver or software to install if you don't want to. A small self-contained program is executed when you plug in the device to the USB port. I did not bother to use whatever extra software might be on the CD. *The text output is legible enough. While jagged edges are definitely visible, it's just a label maker and not a graphic design machine. *Uses any True Type font installed on your computer, including whacky symbols! *The quality of the labels are very good in regards to water resistance and peeling-and-re-sticking ability. I ran a printed label under a faucet for 15 seconds. There was absolutely no bleeding or damage to the base. The tape seems to be laminated and this gives it strength and durability. I was really surprised that the labels still stuck after I had thoroughly wet the adhesive (though I had to wipe off the water first). They also peeled off without leaving a residue and then easily re-adhered to the surface. *Takes tapes of various width, up to 1-inch *Works with AC or batteries (but it takes 6 AA!) *In addition to text, you can print images and screen captures (but see the CONS section and the sample images I've posted) CONS *It is useless when untethered from a computer. A label will only print via a computer. It would have been great if there was a built in memory which could store a few labels which could be printed remotely. This is especially desirable since a good chunk of this thing is for holding 6 AA batteries. *After a few minutes of inactivity, the self-contained software shuts off. You have to reset the label maker to execute the program again. *It's a bit too big for portability. It's about the size of two stacked 3.5" hard drives. A lot of the extra space is due to the housing for the 6-AA batteries, which I plan to never use since it also works off an AC adapter. It would have been ideal if it could have been USB-powered. *Every time a new label is printed, a 1-inch piece of unused tape is spat out. Considering that most labels I intend to make are 1-2 inches long, this is a very high proportion of waste. *The labels, once the backing is peeled off, tend to curl and stick to themselves. It's really only a problem if the label is longer than 2 inches. It also unsticks from itself without much damage if you're careful. *The ability to print images and screen capture is mostly novelty. The print resolution is so low that it looks very grainy like a super high ISO photo film. *It seems rather expensive. Very Impressed! I've wanted a label maker forever, and when Amazon Vine offered this one for review, I was excited, but a little concerned that it had to be connected to a PC to work. I was afraid I would have trouble setting it up, but I plugged it in and within minutes I was printing labels. I couldn't believe how easy it was to use because sometimes I can be electronically challenged. After playing with it for a while, I installed the P-Touch editor software on the CD-rom that is included with the label maker. While the basic software was sufficient for my use, the P-Touch editor software was fun to make really creative labels and even upload small pictures that I used on some. The 180 DPI print quality doesn't make for detailed pictures, though. Refills for the label maker come in a variety of colors and widths for various uses. The back is easy to peel off and the labels are laminated and high quality. The only complaint I have is that it wastes a bit of tape each time it prints, maybe about 3/4 of an inch that it just lops off and spits out. It takes 6 AA batteries or you can use the A/C adaptor cord that comes with the label maker. I'm very pleased with the unit and I've used it to organize my pantry shelves, and to label the fifty or so storage tubs in my attic. Next, I'm going to work on the kids' closets! Update: I've frequently run my labeled containers through my dishwasher and while I expected them to come off, they haven't so far, and still look the same as the day I put them on.

The only thing I wish I could have found was the same thing with the self-sealing flaps but those, obviously, are a lot more expensive. But these work great, they run through my printer really well with no jamming or any other problems. Excellent product. Very Pleased I ordered this product. Not easy to use The 3 rings overlap with each other creating a thickness that does not allow normal 3 hole paper to move easily. I had to double punch my papers to create bigger holes just to get the rings to close properly and my papers don't "flip" easily. I would see if there is a different ring section for the rack system before purchasing these. (The rack system that goes with this is fine).

Will inspire you to get organized I always aspire to be more organized than I am-- quite frankly I just find most organizational activities boring. So I'm always looking for something that will "liven up" the experience, so to speak. These labels are great-- they come off the backing easily, don't tear or stick to your fingers, don't get messy, and they stick to virtually every surface I wanted them to stick to. (Fortunately, they did not stick to the dog-- something that sometimes happens when I'm putting labels on things and the dog is in the room.) They are removable which came in handy for me while I was creating temporary file names which I later wanted to move around and change. I did discover though that some labels I put on colored files were very secure about three days later-- I'm not so sure that after a few months they might be harder to remove- or might leave a mark when removed. The statements on the packaging warn about that so test surfaces you have concerns about. But they're brightly colored, easy to use, and very flexible-- and perfect for a non-organizer like me. Great removable labels These are great labels and much better then the label pads this company makes where you can't tear off at the perforation without leaving an ugly jagged edge. These are on a sheet of wax paper so you just peel and stick. I just write on them with a pen but I don't see why my inkjet wouldn't print on them even though the package only says "Laser". I like that you can remove them once you've put them in place and I like that you have 4 colors. They have nice clean rounded corners so they look professional and neat. Great product with really strong adhesive yet removable! Great label that stays put but lifts off easy again and again The package I received has 4 sheets each of the following colors: A bright pink (however not what I would call neon) Strong solid yellow Lime green (bordering on neon) Pastel blue I took one label on and off surfaces 8 times. Each time it lifted off easily without damaging the paper or lifting off ink. Even after 8 lifts and place even the corners of the sticker laid flat. The sheets move easily through my top feeding inkjet printer and my bottom feeding laser printer. Sharpies do not bleed through the paper to the surface below. Since all of the back of the sticker is sticky it does not crumple or catch like the typical office sticky note; however unlike most labels it does not damage the surface of the paper/folder when you lift it off.

LOVE these for replacing traditional sticky notes I like the idea of sticky notes, but I HATE how they flap and peel off so quickly. These, however, are a large step above. They're easy to peel off the pad, thanks to the edge, yet they stay put for a reasonably long time (I've had them go weeks, depending on wear-and-tear). They also peel off the surface cleanly when their job is done, and they're a nice size for short lists, etc. Bravo!!

Best stapler I've ever used I was sick of my cheapo stapler at work and bought this one from Home Depot. It is the best stapler that I've ever used. It's nicely weighted and has a very fluid motion. It fits easily into my hand and has never jammed in three years of usage. $20 may seem a bit high for a stapler, but this one will give you years of dependable service. Heavy duty stapler I like this stapler for when you have more than twenty sheets to staple. It works great. I bought one for work and home. It does take special staples but they last a long time because you are not always using this stapler. Waste of money I bought this because I wanted a quality stapler that would last. What a disappointment. I've used it less than 6 months and it has already started jamming staples. It requires pliers to remove them they are jammed so tightly. The smaller Swingline stapler I bought at the same time performs just as poorly. I'm through with Swingline forever. I'm still using one of the original 1970's vintage Swingline staplers and it still works okay. the new ones are junk.

Field tested: Grad student approved! I have tried EVERYTHING to annotate my textbooks for school. These are a life saver. I couldn't get my video to upload, but if it had, what you would see is that the tabs I usually use are all crinkled from my books being in my book bag. These, however, have not. They are tough and look as new as the day I put them in the book. I also took them out and moved them around. They remain sticky enough to stick to a new page when I moved them, but left no stickiness on the page from which they were moved. These are a MUST HAVE for any serious student! Genius is Simplicity I realize it may seem silly to review a product like this, but if you're a student, and don't want to lower the resale value of your textbooks by highlighting them, a researcher who is tired of tearing strips of paper off to mark pages in library books and then cursing when they fall out, or any person who needs to mark pages in multiple books and doesn't want to do either, the "Avery Note Tab" is for you. I do a lot of research, usually with books I own, and I've tried every method of keeping track of large numbers of quotations: they all work, but they're all a big pain in the *ss. These little suckers eliminate that pain. They're brightly marked and impossible to miss, stick easily to the pages without leaving a sticky film on them, and are reusable. A single packet contains 40, which is more than adequate for the ordinary needs of a student in high school or college, and just two or three are probably all you'll need, ever, for even the biggest researching jobs at the grad school or doctorate level, or for any other purpose. This is a simple, well-designed product that eliminates a lot of needless hassle and book-descration. College students will also appreciate the greater quantity of beer and Taco Bell they can consume in May after they sell their unmarked textbooks back to the school. Highly recommended. Better than post-it flags ... ... for my purposes, anyway. Here's how I've been using these: 1. Cookbooks -- I collect 'em. When I get a new one, I like to read through it, marking recipes that catch my interest. These are PERFECT for that purpose. 2. Marking research materials. I'm a grad student (non-traditional), in the midst of trying to finish my thesis so I can actually graduate someday. These have saved me HOURS of work in finding the quotes I need for my writing. I can "mark" my source books and articles, and then retrieve them quickly. 3. I sing in 2 choral groups, and conduct one more. In one group, we have 24 pieces of music in a binder and we need to be able to find the particular piece during rehearsal very quickly. These work perfectly. I can write the name of the piece on the tab, and quickly find what I'm looking for. These are sturdy -- they're much heavier than post-it flags, and the larger size works well for me, too. I've been using post-it flags for years. No more. I'll definitely be purchasing these instead.

This might be the perfect product We've all been there - at a function and are given a peel off sticky name tag that immediately peels off of our jackets, shirts, dresses at the edges and then we are self conscious for the rest of the evening. These Post-It(R)Super Sticky labels will eliminate that problem. They stick fabulously. But that is not why I got them. My thoughts were to use them for labels on envelopes, binders, etc. so that I could put one on and later remove it. The Post-It concept makes this a perfect label. The super stickiness of the backing also makes it so that you could use these for mailing labels. So as a one type fits all, it is the nearly perfect (and maybe it is perfect) product. The templates from both 3M and Avery will work with this product. Neither are the older, more visual templates that we've come to expect from Avery, but since there are only eight labels on a page, it is easy to keep track of where you are on the page. Remember to skip the middle tab as it is the space between the labels. I also tested these in my printer for being able to use them one label at a time. The page passes through my printer easily with one or several labels removed. Another warning - remember to delete the older labels from the template that have already been used so that you are not printing on the backing paper - your inkjet will print on it, but the ink will not stick to it and it will get on your printer rollers. The ink will eventually dry, but when in a hurry, it can make a mess. This is terrific product. Pretty Good Name Tags I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the labels. We have a big event coming up, and these will work great. I'm glad that they don't have the "Hello, my name is..." printed on them. Compared to other name badges, these have a semi-gloss finish. Both a marker and a regular pen worked fine on the labels. Pros: + You can print on them from your computer + The labels state which template they are compatible with + They are easy to pull off. There's no extra label material left over immediatly next to the labels which can make them hard to peel off some times. + Each label backing is perforated, so you can use just half the sheet, or separate individual badges (helpful if you've pre-printed the names and want to get them out fast) + The labels are much more sticky than other labels I've used + The labels won't tear or rip easily + Compatible with Laser and inkjet Cons: - They are pretty sticky, so stay away from leathers, suedes, silks, velvet, etc. - Wish there were 200 labels per package (has 160) Super sticky indeed - PERFECT - Shipping needs work! The Post-It labels are quite impressive and I would expect nothing less from this brand. I was able to quickly find a template for Microsoft Word and download it for FREE via Avery's website. Once the template was acquired (and many template designs are available for free) I was able to setup the labels and print them out very quickly. Here is where my shipping issue comes into play. Labels, such as these, need to be STRAIGHT when fed into the printer so that the printing is not crooked and or does not jam the printer. A lot of care needs to go into shipping these items because if they bounce around and the packaging gets dented in the corner/etc..they will get damaged. In my case the top right corner of the labels packaging was damaged and thus it was a nightmare to feed them through the printer. Now, to Amazon's credit..they probably shipped them well...but carriers destroy packages and thus my dilemma. Luckily all of the sheets were not harmed and I was able to successfully print them out.... That being said, the product is perfect and gets a 5/5 - I think Amazon may need to come up with a better shipping solution for them.

Excellent quality tape dispenser for a good price I bought one of these several years ago and have really liked its sleek design and purpose. It stays put when you dispense tape, and the core doesn't pop out when you're removing tape, like many other dispensers do (even from Scotch themselves!). After trying some other cheaper dispensers since buying one of these, I decided to just buy another for my home, rather than waste my time. They now come in a few different colors -- including black and green -- but I like the silver/black combination best. Now if only they made one like this for shipping/packing tape, then I'd be all set!

What can I say but "WOW". I have an Epson 890 printer which I bought for printing digital photos at home. It has a roll attachment and an excellent reputation. I did reviews twice on this printer. It was this printer I used to print with this paper.EARLIER EXPERIENCES WITH KODAK PAPER WERE NOT GOOD.I had tried Kodak paper early on with this printer and the results were horrible. So I opted to go with only Epson paper and am quite pleased with the results. However, it needs to be noted, that the Epson printer is optimized for Epson paper and this is not too surprising. Most printer manufacturers make their money on the "consumables" versus the printers themselves, so this is their primary focus. Consumables being ink and paper. Only their paper and ink will give you the best results, if it is up to them.EPSON PAPER IS NOT ON EVERY SHELF THOUGH: KODAK IS:However, if you want to buy paper locally, all you find here (in Rochester NY) is Kodak paper and HP at the grocery stores. It's tiny. I was under the impression that this was a fairly large dispenser. The dimensions caused me (incorrectly) to assume it would hold 2" wide packing tape. In fact, the is a very heavy, retro-looking, dispenser for standard 1" scotch-type tape. The picture makes it look massive, but it's quite small.

Such possibilities
Right out of the box, I like it. This Five Star NoteBinder is attractive and functional. Included are 2 NotePocket dividers, 3 NoteProtector dividers, 60 sheets of college ruled paper and 20 sheets of quad ruled paper. In it are all the added benefits of a notebook and binder in one.

COVER

The front and back cover is durable flexible plastic. The spine is a tough nylon material. This binder will take a beating.

The rings are mounted to the back cover. The front cover has three holes which slip over the rings. That allows the thickness of the notebinder to adjust to the amount of paper inside. Less paper = thinner NoteBinder.

Because the front cover travels freely over the rings, the front cover may be flipped over to the back. You can do that with a wire notebook, but try that with a binder!

DIVIDER NOTEPOCKETS

Two plastic dividers with pockets for loose papers. The pockets include a top flap to keep the papers from falling out and tabs for labeling the divider.

The front of the pocket includes a smaller clear pocket for index cards or smaller papers. The smaller pocket also includes a flap to keep from losing contents.

The NotePocket is one of my favorite features. It carries both small and large loose sheets securely while providing quick and easy access.

DIVIDER NOTEPROTECTORS

These are essentially plastic sheet protectors. Like the NotePockets, they also have a flap to keep contents from spilling out of the top and they also have tabs for labeling the divider. Unlike most sheet protectors, these sheet protectors are open on two sides, the top and the lefthand sides.

THE RINGS

The rings are made of flexible plastic and must be opened individually. They open easily and hold securely, but it is not as quick and smooth an operation as with a typical three ring binder.

The size of the rings limit the paper load to about 1 inch thick.

SUMMARY

These notebooks are great for students, especially older ones. It is well designed. I almost wish I was a student again so I can take full advantage of its possibilities. For now, it will be used to organize my children's schoolwork and projects.

Better than notebooks and binders, but not perfect
As a college student and a notebook junkie (for some girls it's shoes, for me it's notebooks) I knew I'd really be able to test this notebook to see if it was worth its stuff. After giving it the customary skim-through to see what it had, I proceeded to put it through not only the high school test but also the college test. Over the last few days, this notebook has been shoved into a backpack, yanked back out of a backpack, dropped from a variety of heights several times, sat on, bent, twisted, kicked, etc. Its pockets have been stuffed full and torn at. I've filled it with more paper than it's supposed to be able to handle. I've spilled water and other liquids on it intentionally, intentionally picked it up with cheese-cracker fingers, dropped it a few more times (right on the binder rings, and to my delight it took a good ten drops for one ring to open.)I tossed it about, doodled on it, scribbled on it, did just about everything I could think of to it. Well, except actually write in it. That I saved for later, because after making sure this notebook had a chance of surviving school (whether college or high school), I wanted to be able to use the notebook-binder as, well, a notebookinder.

My findings after undertaking this not-so-scientific study? This notebookinder is an extremely durable little sucker, more durable than a mere binder and more durable than a mere notebook. With normal binders, the rings become misaligned, dropping them is a guaranteed disaster, and the vinyl peels off the cover. Normal notebooks are prone to getting waterlogged in any number of circumstances, not to mention getting torn and bent and otherwise ruined.

But this Flex thing is brilliant. Not only are you less likely to ruin pages, if they are ruined, you can just take them out and replace them with new ones! And the binder itself seems as if it'll last an awfully long time, even the pockets (which are usually the first things to go for over-stuffing, packrat me.)

My main complaint with this product is that the rings aren't quite as fast to open, so if you were in a hurry, putting papers away in it would not be a fun chore. Also, if you have a tiny little college lecture hall desk, trying to balance it right in order to keep everything in the rings is also a bit of a chore.

Overall, though, I wish they had had these back in my high school days. Sure would have spared me a lot of heartache, headache, and embarrassment, but oh well. We can't always get what we want.

Space Saver
The no-nonsense Five Star Hybrid Note Binder has a front & back cover of double-ply plastic but no cardboard insert, so the covers are flexible. The binding edge is fabric, allowing the binder to be filled to about 1-3/4". Because it is fabric, the binding won't crack from constant bending back and forth (this happens to standard binders before the school year ends.) The standard 3 rings are flexible plastic and one side inserts deep into the other, providing a secure lock and eliminating the possibility of small fingers getting pinched when closing the rings. My binder came with 5 tabbed plastic dividers: two had pouches for index cards and three accepted inserts. Five labels were provided for the tabs. There was a small supply of lined paper and a smaller supply of graph paper - a nice bonus since most binders don't include paper at all. One big advantage is that the binder compresses to the depth of its contents; a fairly empty binder will be almost flat, which is a nice feature if the binder is going into a backpack or briefcase. Another advantage is that the front cover folds completely behind the back cover, taking up less desk or lap space and allowing one to comfortably write on the paper while it is inside the binder. There are no pockets inside the front or back covers, but we've found that purchasing separate 3-hole pocket folders works better for us because built-in pockets rip away from the binder and tear the binder cover in the process. The colors are true to the picture.

Unreliable
I got this stapler four months ago and have barely used it. Each time I have, it has jammed so badly that I have to unplug it and take it apart. Now it is throwing 3 or 4 staples at a time and jamming with the papers inside it. I am now ordering a heavier duty stapler, and I advise you to do the same if you need an electric version. A waste of money.

Workhorse
I bought 5 of these in 2003 - 2004, they are still the favorites in the office, so much so they've slowly dissapeared and I'm down to 2. Unless the quality has gone down since my initial purchase, they shouldn't jam - ever. I'm buying a few additional ones and will update this review if the performance doesn't support my past experience.

Terrible electric stapler!
I had a different Swingline before that was wonderful...this one is either posessed or just plain awful. I keep coming into my office and finding staples that it has spit out all over my desk. It even does it when I am working at my desk????

A nice high-capacity stapler
I purchased this stapler because I wanted something that could handle more than the standard 20 sheets of most staplers, but I didn't want one of those giant stapling machines that you have to get special staples for. I've used high capacity staplers in the past and never really found one I like, since most of them work best when you leave them sitting on a table. I wanted something I could hold comfortably in my hand while stapling, and the Swingline Optima does just that.

The form factor is very nice. It is bigger than most staplers, but still feels comfortable when using. I've never had it hurt my wrist when stapling or had to exert a lot of pressure. It is easy to use in your hands and doesn't need to sit on a table. It is also designed so that you can stand it up its end or the regular way. This is useful if you like to staple things while holding it a lot. The stapler has rubberized grips and padding on it that also make it feel comfortable. I have never had it jam on me, due to using a different stapling mechanism than most staplers use. The staples feed into it a bit more easily as well, since it doesn't use a hinge design to hold the staples. It is also more efficient than regular staplers, and I am able to use less force when stapling. This is great if you do a lot of stapling and you staple a lot of pages at a time. It easily staples through the advertised 40 sheets of paper, but does not handle any more than that, since a regular staple is not long enough to securely hold anything more.

There are a couple flaws with the Swingline Optima. The first is that it does not hold the advertised 210 staple capacity (which is a standard length of staples). It holds about 190. That means I can't just take out a line of new staples and put it in, I have to break off the end of them so it will fit. So I'm left with a bunch of small rows of 20 staples at the end of it that I have to use. This is a huge flaw with any stapler in my opinion (unless it is a compact stapler) and a stapler should always hold a full line of staples. I figured I must be doing something wrong, since Swingline's own web site says it has a 210 staple capacity, but I checked everywhere and there is no way for me to load 210 staples into this thing. So either they were wrong about the capacity, or my stapler is broken. Either way, that is enough to lose a star. My other gripe is that the instructions state you must use SWI35556 - Optima staples with it. It doesn't recommend you use them, it says you "must" use them. So I of course bought about 10 packages. After examining them very closely, I've come to the determination that there is virtually no difference between their more expensive Swingline Optima brand, and the generic Office Depot staples I have. Maybe they way a microgram less or are made with some kind of special alloy, but from practical use, I have found them identical to standard staples.

Overall, there are a couple things Swingline could improve on with this stapler, but currently, it is the best high capacity desktop stapler I have found.

What product manager let this out the door?
The "quick button" to release the staple cartridge busted off the first time I tried to put staples into this thing. It is going immediately back to the store where I bought it.

DO NOT BUY THIS STAPLER!
What a ripoff! I chose this overpriced stapler because it seemed to have a solid touch. When I got it home, it was nearly impossible to remove from the packaging. Not only was the packaging very tight, but the edges were round, making it almost impossible to cut with scissors. I wonder how many emergency room visits have been generated from this product.
It did not come with staples, despite the greater than $24 price. When I tried to open it to put in staples, the mechanism for loading the staples broke off, a spring fell out, and we are not able to put it back together. It's going back to the store!

To me, "High Performance" means "the way tape should be".
"High Performance" Scotch tape is the stuff that you can pull off the roll without having it split or stick to itself and it's own roll so much that you end up throwing away a lot of tape and wondering why just putting some tape on a package should take so long. I bought some and I can say it's worth it just to be able to tape up a package without fighting with the tape. The time saving to me is worth whatever premium I might have to pay for it.

Very High Quality
This is a better deal than the normal tape item they sell here as you get six of them for a better price. As far as the product itself goes this one is high grade indeed. I've been shipping books and CDs on amazon and another site for about three years now. I find this Scotch clear tape to be the best shipping tape available for the price. It unrolls without difficulty and cuts easily. With Scotch I never have to worry about it sticking to the main roll after snipping a strip off. That wasn't the case when I bought a few of the no name brand dispensers at a local big box store as I found their products vastly inferior.

LOVE these for replacing traditional sticky notes
I like the idea of sticky notes, but I HATE how they flap and peel off so quickly. These, however, are a large step above. They're easy to peel off the pad, thanks to the edge, yet they stay put for a reasonably long time (I've had them go weeks, depending on wear-and-tear). They also peel off the surface cleanly when their job is done, and they're a nice size for short lists, etc. Bravo!!
